Leadership Bio
Rich is the SVP of Safety & Member Performance at Signal Mutual and serves as the Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) Committee Chair for STO Building Group. Before these pursuits, Rich spent over 30 years at General Electric in multiple functions including legal counsel, human resources, sourcing, and several health and safety leadership roles before being named GE Energy’s senior executive for health, safety, environment, and sustainability. In that role, he partnered with executives, clients, unions, and governmental agencies while providing strategic leadership for 500 facilities in over 100 countries. He now leverages that experience in advising the STO Building Group SHEQ committee and supporting the organization’s Safety 360° culture.
Rich is also an active participant in a number of philanthropic causes. He has served on the Special Olympics’ Board of Directors, coached girls competitive travel softball, helped raise funds to support schools in Africa, and regularly volunteers in community events. He is also a husband and father to two grown daughters. Rich received his bachelor’s degree from Purdue University, juris doctorate from Union (Albany) Law School, and MBA from Columbia University.
