Leadership Bio
Scott serves as Chief Risk Officer for the STO Building Group (STOBG). As CRO, Scott oversees risk and insurance programs for the company and works with related departments to eliminate or reduce the risks of the organization as a whole.
Scott has over 30 years of experience in organizational risk management. After beginning his career in insurance and risk management in higher education, he moved into the commercial real estate industry where he spent the majority of his impressive career in executive risk management roles at such organizations as The Related Companies and Lehman Brothers Holdings, among others.
Scott has significant experience in the development and implementation of property, casualty, and management liability insurance programs, as well as expertise in risk allocation, contractual risk transfer, complex claim and litigation management, and catastrophic loss recovery. His experience includes large construction wraps, large-scale mixed-use development, and brownfield redevelopment projects.
Scott has been a featured speaker and instructor for the National Multi-Housing Council (NMHC), National Association of Real Estate Investment Mangers (NAREIM), the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), the International Association of Attorneys and Executives in Corporate Real Estate (AECRE), and Continuing Legal Education (CLE).
