Rodin Museum and Garden
From the Perelman building to the recent Core Project, we are proud of our ongoing relationship with the Philadelphia Museum of Art (PMA). In 2012, LF Driscoll completed the interior restoration and renovation of the Rodin Museum, which is also under the stewardship of the PMA.
The Rodin Museum was originally built and gifted to the city of Philadelphia by citizen and philanthropist Jules E. Mastbaum to display his collection of sculptures by Auguste Rodin. Renovation work restored the interior to the spirit of its original 1929 design, including carefully returning paint and plaster finishes to their original colors. Marble restoration, wood flooring and millwork refinishing, terrazzo floor refinishing, sculpture base refinishing and new sculpture base construction were completed. New track lighting was delicately installed into the museum’s historic plaster ceilings, and new storm windows were installed in the galleries. The partial basement was renovated to accommodate events and add storage space. Our team also upgraded the mechanical, electrical, security and lighting systems.
Our team successfully returned the Rodin Museum to its Beaux Arts splendor on time and on budget.
