Structure Tone Southwest Safety
Structure Tone Southwest’s goal is to work without injury, property damage or adverse impact to the environment.
Safety is the overriding factor in our business: from risk assessment and subcontractor prequalification to mobilization right through to project completion.
We drive safety excellence throughout the company through our Safety Committee, Rewards and Recognition Program, and by working closely with our clients and subcontractor partners. Safety leadership, ownership and training are required of every employee.
We partner with clients and subcontractors to identify, evaluate, eliminate and control known workplace safety and health hazards that arise during construction. Each project team coordinates work and plans safety into daily activities with our subcontractor partners. We also recognize and reward ‘safe behavior’ by holding safety luncheons and by awarding spot recognitions to project workers who are working safely.
Each subcontractor is prequalified for safety, risk/insurance and financial strength prior to starting work on any project. To ensure project safety, we hold subcontractor kickoff meetings and orientations on every project to set safety expectations. We hold all-hands meetings, weekly coordination meetings and safety stand-downs regularly to help communicate work flow and hazards on each project. Each subcontractor partner is required to have a trained person to identify and control worksite hazards.
As a result, Structure Tone Southwest’s EMR is 0.54. The company has been recognized by The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) for Construction Safety Excellence (CSEA), and by Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) as a Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) Platinum-level recipient.
