Who We Are
Elevator and escalator systems are critical to construction timelines. STO Building Group’s Elevator
Construction Consultants (ECC) aim to eliminate inefficiencies, reduce first-time inspection
failures, and ensure elevators and escalators support, rather than hinder, project delivery. Led by
industry veteran Michael Walsh, ECC offers a specialized team that brings clarity, consistency, and
quality to vertical systems across all STOBG business units.

The Approach
Led by experts with decades of hands-on experience, ECC’s approach to
elevator and escalator installation is one of a kind.
We like to start in the early stages of design and development so we can
review initial drawings and submittals and perform constructability
reviews to make sure proposed elevators will actually work in the
design.
We monitor progress and get ahead of any elements that could affect the
schedule. We also make sure throughout the process that they adhere to
project specifications and contracts.
We coordinate with the trades throughout installation to not only keep
an eye on quality, but also tee everything up for a successful
inspection. With approval in hand, we prepare final punch lists and
complete all open items for hand-over to the client.
We get results. Our projects have an average inspection pass rate of 97%
on final inspections. Compare that to the industry average of 45% and
it’s clear that having a dedicated elevator specialist makes all the
difference.
Our Partners
At ECC, we know that teaming up with the best in the business is how we get great results. By
working closely with manufacturers we’re able to make sure every elevator and escalator system we
oversee is up-to-date and built to perform. These partnerships also allow us to better advocate for
our clients—guaranteeing that specifications are met, schedules are honored, and installations meet
the highest standards of quality and performance.
