Across its many departments, this shift towards workplace modernization, dubbed GCworkplace, is being embarked upon in the hopes that such improvements to the workplace environment will foster greater innovation, collaboration, and productivity among employees.
At face value, Abbott Construction’s design-build project for the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) involved renovating its Northwest Regional Headquarters in Shoreline, WA to house over 600 WSDOT and Department of Ecology (WSDOE) employees. Although reorganizing and updating an occupied, six-story, 162,000sf building from the 1970s seemed like a hefty challenge, the project team still saw the project as an invigorating exercise in both creativity and excellence to save a grove of historic trees and improve the building’s efficiency while also uniting differing stakeholder needs.
Layton provided both preconstruction and construction services for West Valley’s new, ground-up police headquarters. As the second largest city in Utah, West Valley’s expanding police force required a larger facility that met their spatial and technology needs, as well as the needs of the growing community.
Originally built in the 1980s, the well known and loved Williams Square Plaza in Irving, Texas was in dire need of a revamp, and Structure Tone Southwest was there to deliver.
Wiregrass Ranch Sports Campus of Pasco County - This new facility consisted of a new 100,000 SF PEMB indoor sports arena with 230 foot clear span and 70,000 SF of wood flooring for the primary use of volleyball, basketball, dance, cheerleading, and other indoor sports.

The Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC) needed a new joint use facility to better serve Orlando and parts of both Orange and Osceola counties, from one central hub. This multi-phase operations center totals approximately 77,605 SF.
