The state-of-the-art Vagelos Laboratory for Energy Science and Technology will serve as a hub for the School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) and School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS). The new laboratory building consists of seven floors features highly flexible labs and workstations, faculty offices, administrative suites, and collaborative meeting/workspaces.

Columbia University partnered with LF Driscoll Healthcare to manage the preconstruction and construction of a new eight-story electric laboratory building. Clad in a unitized curtain wall and a UHPC metal panel system, this facility will include wet laboratories, adjacent support, and administrative spaces to accommodate more than 30 principal investigators and their support staff.
This project included a full sitework package that was developed on a 73-acre site. Building trades were sequenced to work continuously to limit remobilization cost and sequenced to minimize the overall construction schedule.
