STO Building Group Names Paul Drecksel as President
Drecksel has been serving as COO of STOBG firm Layton Construction
NEW YORK, NY (January 7, 2026) – Construction management firm STO Building Group today announced that it has named Paul Drecksel the new President of the organization, effective January 1, 2026.

Drecksel has been serving as chief operating officer of Layton Construction, a member of the STOBG family of builders. In that role, he also helped lead a division of STOBG that includes Layton, Abbott Construction, and Structure Tone Southwest.
“Paul’s strong leadership skills are a tremendous asset for STOBG across the entire platform,” says STOBG CEO Bob Mullen. “Working closely with me, Executive Chairman Jim Donaghy, and the entire STOBG leadership team, Paul will fill an integral role as we continue achieving our strategic goals, based on our foundational drive for sustainable growth.”
After earning degrees in accounting and law, Drecksel spent two decades as a construction industry attorney, advising owners, subcontractors, and general contractors on a wide range of construction projects and topics. He joined Layton as general counsel in 2013 and transitioned to COO in 2020. At Layton, he has been heavily involved in safety and operational priorities, securing new clients, solving project issues, recruiting and retaining key talent, spearheading organizational changes, and helping the company achieve and manage substantial growth at both its top and bottom lines.
Drecksel will be based in STOBG’s New York City headquarters.
