Leadership Bio
A veteran of the engineering and construction industry, Jane Chmielinski is a recognized expert on urban infrastructure and construction. With a background in environmental, transportation and building engineering and planning, Jane has become a sought-after strategist for both public and private business and development efforts.
Jane has held leadership positions in some of the world’s preeminent engineering firms, most recently as chief operating officer at AECOM during her 25-year career there. In that role she managed both the operations of the firm’s 45,000 employees in 150 countries and the successful integration of 29 companies into one AECOM brand.
Jane is also a passionate advocate for diversity in the AEC industry. She founded AECOM’s diversity and inclusion program and is a member of Women’s Forum of New York, an invitation-only consortium of New York’s most prominent professional women who work to advance women leadership.
A Boston-area native, Jane is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst, a board member of the Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation and an inductee in the National Academy of Construction. She also served on Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker’s P3 Commission, which facilitates public-private partnerships for transportation projects throughout the Commonwealth.
