Community
Improving and supporting our communities is an integral part of LF Driscoll. Recent initiatives include:
June 5 Memorial Park
LF Driscoll donated construction management services for the development of the 5,000 sf June 5 Memorial Park. The Memorial honors the memory of the individuals lost and injured when an adjacent building collapsed on a Salvation Army Thrift Store in June 2013. The park was dedicated in 2018, on the fifth anniversary of the collapse.
American Heart Association
Since 2014, LF Driscoll has raised nearly $180,000 for the American Heart Association. Annually, our team and their families participate in the Heart Walk in Philadelphia.
Ride to Conquer Cancer
Cyclists for Structure Tone and LF Driscoll rode 150 miles in the Ride to Conquer Cancer, a campaign to raise cancer awareness and support Penn Medicine’s Abramson Cancer Center. Along with the riders, over 30 volunteers from our organization dedicated their time to the event.
Clyde F. Barker Penn Transplant House
LF Driscoll supplied construction management resources for the Clyde F. Barker Penn Transplant House. Built at 40th and Spruce Streets in Philadelphia, the house was designed by Rafael Vinoly and seamlessly integrates within the residential neighborhood. The all-volunteer project included donated time and materials from contractors, unions, tradespeople, and architects.
MyWIC (Mentoring Young Women in Construction)
MyWIC Camp gives young ladies hands-on experience to gain better knowledge of the construction industry. LF Driscoll and the PennFirst team hosted 24 middle and high school students with their chaperones on an hour-long tour of the Penn Pavilion project guided by women involved all aspects of building – design, safety, project management, and several subcontractor representatives.
Rebuilding Philadelphia Together
Since 2017, LF Driscoll has sponsored houses for Rebuilding Together Philadelphia, a program that revitalizes communities by transforming vulnerable houses into safe, healthy, and energy efficient homes.
Salvation Army of Greater Philadelphia
LF Driscoll elves collected nearly 100 toys to help the Salvation Army in Roxborough spread joy during the 2018 holiday season.
