After successfully building more than 200,000 square feet of office space for AIG over the years, the multinational insurance firm requested the same BCCI team for its latest project at Montgomery Tower in San Francisco. The fully engineered tenant improvements comprised one-and-a-half floors of new office space. BCCI self-performed selective demolition and highly skilled subcontractors were chosen to complete the remaining work including new non-structural partitions; mechanical, electrical and plumbing; and new finishes. This project was especially significant to AIG because the space is a prototype for a new layout that the company will roll out nationwide. The build-out included open office workspace, private offices, a lounge, casual meeting areas, contemplation rooms, and focus rooms. When freight elevators in the building failed, our team found a way to work around the issue each time so that construction was not delayed. And despite many client changes during the build-out, BCCI was able to respond quickly to requests and meet the client’s move-in date while also achieving a zero punch list.
