BCCI was selected as the general contractor for the interiors build-out of Degenkolb Engineers’ new San Francisco office. To support the structural engineering firm’s occupancy goal, BCCI’s team utilized a design-build MEP approach to expedite the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design as well as procurement. Initial work comprised the abatement of lead paint on an existing interior concrete deck prior to the start of construction. BCCI then completed the tenant improvements, which included open office space, conference rooms, private offices, a pantry and a break room. Special design features include reclaimed wood at reception and in the café, a folding glass door imported from Germany in the main conference room, and custom light fixtures with a subtle nod to the company’s logo. With an emphasis on impeccable project planning and quality and precision in the field, the project was completed on time and on budget with a zero-punch list.
