Carpenter Technology Corporation
Structure Tone performed preconstruction and construction management services for Carpenter Technology, when they established their center city headquarters on the 15th floor of 1735 Market Street. Based in Reading, PA, Carpenter Technology realized that they needed a presence in Philadelphia. Executives required office space in the city, and in order to attract top-notch talent, they recognized that an office in downtown Philadelphia was critical.
Structure Tone was hired after a thorough interview process was conducted by the client and their owner’s representative. We were engaged in the project approximately two months prior to the start of construction, which allowed us the opportunity to work collaboratively with Carpenter Technology and their design and engineering team to ensure that the project budget be maintained. We provided our client with early budgets and value engineering options, as well as add alternates for “nice to have” aesthetic options. Over the course of the preconstruction period, and through several budgeting exercises and team meetings, we were able to establish a construction budget that was right in line with Carpenter Technology’s requirements. Carpenter Technology was able to implement several of the “nice to have” options that had been identified early in the preconstruction period, which enhanced the project even further.
