Fir Tree Partners
After completing Fir Tree Partners’ office at 505 Fifth Avenue, Structure Tone provided construction management services for their headquarter relocation to 55 West 46th Street. The financial firm moved into approximately 35,000sf across two floors, a space designed to exceed LEED Silver standards in terms of sustainably sourced materials and MEP systems and controls. Additionally, to support a healthy and productive workplace, concepts of The WELL Building Standard were incorporated including improved air quality, drinking water and nourishment, access to natural lighting and lighting control, acoustical and thermal comfort, and ergonomic seating and work-stations. During construction, our team abided by an “eco-scorecard,” identifying construction and design components that meet industry code and serve the function and purpose of the workplace environment.
Construction included open office spaces, conference rooms, a pantry, trading area and server room. Through the design provided by Kostow Greenwood Architects, the new headquarters uses less energy while being double the size of Fir Tree’s previous location. High-end finishes and vibrant color palette bring the space beyond a traditional financial firm aesthetic to a more modern, energizing office that encourages employee collaboration. The floors embody an “earthy” aesthetic with natural materials, high ceilings and exposed areas that allow organic light to flow through the office. Other key features include the café with wood slatted ceiling and the green wall in the reception desk area with hanging planters and other natural imagery.
