Looking to build a New York showroom that serves as the “window” to their brand, Bali-based jewelry company John Hardy worked with Structure Tone to develop their space on the 13th floor of 330 Hudson Street. John Hardy’s unique, LEED® Gold certified workplace includes interior private and executive offices, open workstations, a communal dining area, an extensive design library, meeting/flex rooms, support spaces, small exhibition areas, a high-end elevator lobby and a Great Hall/hospitality-style reception area.

A focal point in the office is the custom-made wooden table in the main conference room, a reminder of the company’s Balinese heritage and a staple in every John Hardy office since the company’s founding in 1975. Moving this table posed a challenge to our project team, as it was too big to be brought into the office in one piece. Our team used a crane to lift it up to the 13th floor, thus preserving its integrity.
The other half of the floor is dedicated to the showroom, which displays the company’s collection of fine jewelry. The showroom features floral displays in urns, wall vitrines for additional displays, rock crystal sculptures, large art pieces and other branding images and surface mounted track lighting. The showroom also has several open areas that will be used for client and employee events, including a patio with views of the Hudson River from every angle.
Construction on this project was divided into two phases. The first phase consisted of building out the office space. John Hardy employees were able to move in almost two months before the showroom was completed. Following the office fit-out, Structure Tone met the client’s fast-track schedule and finalized the showroom space in time for its grand opening.
