Kirkland & Ellis
We built out Kirkland’s new private offices and conference rooms along the building’s perimeter windows. The existing heating units in those areas were replaced with low profile ones to fully capitalize on the panoramic view from the upper floors. We used glass office fronts to let natural light filtrate in. High-end millwork, marble tile, lacquer panels, and wood accents were carried throughout the space, creating a clean and minimalist appeal. Along with the typical office space components, this project included a full-service kitchen, game room, and a chic interconnecting staircase.
Structure Tone worked closely with our subcontractors to design-build the marble stair that serves as a major focal point of the office. The staircase presented some challenges– no access from the floor below, building directly on top of the slab, and a supporting beam that was so massive it had to be split into four pieces to be brought in. After thoughtful coordination and the help of a 3D model, the curved stair was a huge success and a favorite component for the new tenants.
