Professional Service Firm
For more than a decade, BCCI has been a valuable construction partner for this global professional service firm’s Bay Area offices which led to the award of their latest build-out spanning five floors at Salesforce Tower. As a flagship innovation hub for the company, a creative, future-forward workspace was envisioned for the firm’s technology, digital business, and consulting operations to inspire new ways to work with clients and improve customer experiences.
The vertical campus, which houses 2,000 employees, comprises open workspace with huddle areas, conference rooms, client experience centers, a virtual reality igloo, a maker lab, an interview studio, and San Francisco’s first five-story interconnecting stair. The walls and ceiling soffits all have rounded corners that mimic the curvature of the tower and floorplates.
One of the most significant undertakings was the permitting and inspection process, which required a total of 31 permits and involved a complicated smoke control and life safety testing process for the unique staircase. Additionally, BCCI coordinated extensively with multiple A/V consultants for the installation of large format LED screens throughout the space including a five-story integrated digital art firewall which serves as a stunning backdrop against the modern, multidirectional staircase.
In alignment with the client’s sustainability goals, the project was registered to pursue LEED v4 Gold certification and WELL Certification at the Silver level. Biophilic design with the life-size redwood tree display, active design elements such as the architectural staircase, the use of daylighting, and access to views are just some of the sustainable features that support the concepts of the LEED and WELL rating systems.
