Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health’s flagship Lancaster General Hospital provided for well over 100,000 patient visits in its Level I Trauma & Emergency Department in 2018. The department was last renovated in 2002 and was designed to accommodate 85,000 annual patient visits.
Montefiore Medical Center, Manhattan West Ambulatory Suite

LF Driscoll Healthcare provided preconstruction and construction services for Montefiore’s new multidisciplinary ambulatory suite at the newly built 2 Manhattan West.
Layton is providing design-build services on a three-phase, 50-bed medical facility, expanding and transforming an existing rehabilitation clinic into a state-of-the-art neuroscience hospital. The space will feature an inpatient progressive care unit, inpatient rehabilitation unit, a 16-bed neuro-intensive care unit (Neuro-ICU), and complete physical therapy and occupational therapy gymnasium areas.
Kapi’olani Medical Center is known for its tremendous care throughout Hawaii and the Pacific Rim. Prior to the completion of this facility, children needing inpatient medical care were treated in an outdated building from the 1950s.
To better serve children’s medical needs, Layton and Abbott were hired to build a dedicated hospital focusing solely on pediatric care. The facility will provide 82 private patient rooms with shelled space for future needs, ten operating rooms, a pediatric intensive care unit, and a hybrid interventional cardiology and radiology suite.
After completing several projects on the University of Utah’s Huntsman Cancer Institute campus, Layton was invited to perform another major expansion in 2019.
Having previously completed multiple projects at Monument Health Rapid City, Layton provided CM-at-Risk services to help transform their existing campus. Expansion goals for the project included the addition of patient beds to transition to all private rooms, connected parking, improved wayfinding, and the addition of integrated physician spaces.
To meet the growing healthcare needs of the residents of Florence, Alabama, long-time client RCCH Healthcare Partners hired Layton to construct a new replacement hospital spanning 25 acres at the North Alabama Medical Center campus. This facility replaced the existing Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital, which Layton demolished as the team completed the new facility.
