Structure Tone partnered with IA Interior Architects to renovate private equity firm Thomas H. Lee’s (THL) 63,000sf headquarters at 100 Federal Street in Boston’s Financial District. Following the design laid out by IA, Structure Tone built THL a space that transforms the firm’s office environment by enhancing employees’ daily operations and representing the company brand.
With THL staff required to be in the office four days a week, the design and construction consisted of various workplace elements and amenities, such as glass-front perimeter offices, open workstations, and collaborative lounge areas. The entrance/reception lobby on the 36th floor features floor-to-ceiling glass windows that offer panoramic views of the Boston skyline with a customer-facing executive boardroom next to it. A floating staircase connects to the floor below and a two-story glass and wood feature wall separates reception from various amenities, including a fitness facility with shower rooms and a communal dining area with full-service kitchen.
IA’s design and our team’s construction also incorporated a color palette and other design features that reflect THL’s Boston-based tradition and background. Embracing their support of New England artists, the office showcases local, curated pieces that enhance the inviting ambiance of this workplace.
