Yulex Corporation
Yulex Corporation has developed a portfolio of biobased elastomer products derived from the U.S. grown guayule plant. Their technical innovation is designed to replace traditional tropical or petroleum-based rubber. In completing their new manufacturing facility, during preconstruction, we worked closely with Yulex staff, the design team, and the construction manager to design the facility and procure equipment utilized in the production of guayule natural rubber.
The production of guayule natural rubber is an evolving science. With little information from previous facilities to draw from, the team examined every step of the production process, the equipment necessary at each step, and the construction methods that best fit those steps from a cost and maintenance standpoint.
In addition to extensive process piping, bridge cranes, utility upgrades, and general construction required of the new facility, the team was heavily involved in the procurement and coordination of numerous equipment suppliers involved in the production line creating the final product.
