Google Store in Brooklyn, New York
Construction Details of Google Store in New York City
Structure Tone managed the build-out of a Google retail store in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The 6,500sf space spreads over two floors and includes retail displays and back of house spaces.
Creating the Google Experience
Our team assisted Google in crafting a “very local kind of Google experience” immediately upon walking in. The retail section on the store’s main level consists of merchandise displays and product testing zones. Customers can onsult with experts to troubleshoot an issue or discuss future purchases. Our team helped install the beautiful art piece by Brooklyn-based artist Olalekan Jeyifous, a work that examines relationships between architecture, community, and the environment. We also created small Town Hall areas for the store to host local neighborhood events.
Construction on the rest of the main level involved fitting out employee break rooms, restrooms, offices, and storage), two stairs, and egress hallway. The basement houses the Inventory Storage function for the program and MEPS support areas. This project is seeking Platinum LEED certification.
