Ground Floor & Lobby Renovations
Overlooking one of the world’s most iconic destinations, the Renaissance New York Times Square Hotel has undergone a renovation designed to enhance guest experience. As construction manager, Structure Tone led the modernization of the key public-facing spaces while maintaining uninterrupted hotel operations in the heart of Times Square.
The transformation reimagines the hotel’s communal areas as dynamic spaces for gathering, dining, working, and socializing. Major upgrades include the ground-floor Jump Lobby, third-floor lobby areas, meeting and conference spaces, marketplace, restrooms, and elevator interiors, creating a cohesive aesthetic that reflects the energy and sophistication of New York City.
A New Hospitality Destination Above Times Square
A centerpiece of the transformation is the hotel’s redesigned restaurant and lounge experience, highlighted by the newly unveiled Bowtie Bar. Inspired by the surrounding theater district and Manhattan’s Art Deco heritage, the refreshed venue features rich textures, polished finishes, and dramatic views of Times Square, offering guests a stylish retreat above the city’s constant motion. A streamlined kitchen concept and reconfigured service areas support a refined dining experience, while renewed gathering spaces throughout the hotel encourage connection, relaxation, and exploration.
Delivering Complex Construction in an Active Environment
Executing the renovation required meticulous planning and coordination within a fully occupied environment. Construction activities were carefully phased to minimize disruption to guests, staff, and daily operations, allowing the hotel to remain fully operational throughout the project.
The team also navigated the complexities of working adjacent to occupied tenant spaces, including the Olive Garden restaurant located directly below portions of the construction area. Close coordination among project partners ensured the project progressed safely and seamlessly while preserving the guest experience.
The result is a refreshed hospitality destination that blends elevated design, operational efficiency, and unforgettable views, creating a more engaging experience for visitors while positioning the Renaissance New York Times Square Hotel for the future.
