Sharp Grossmont Hospital for Neuroscience
Layton is providing design-build services on a three-phase, 50-bed medical facility, expanding and transforming an existing rehabilitation clinic into a state-of-the-art neuroscience hospital. The space will feature an inpatient progressive care unit, inpatient rehabilitation unit, a 16-bed neuro-intensive care unit (Neuro-ICU), and complete physical therapy and occupational therapy gymnasium areas. This facility will be San Diego’s first single center of excellence for patients needing advanced neurosurgical, neurological, and comprehensive spine care. Despite the tight site and highly trafficked surroundings, Layton’s rigorous phasing and safety plans ensure minimal impact to nearby campus operations.
