Silicon Valley Bank
California-based Silicon Valley Bank wanted a breakout office in New York City that showcases the company’s unique collaborative model. The office at 387 Park Avenue South is double the footprint of their previous space and provides a communal “hub” for employees and investors. Structure Tone managed this expansion on an aggressive 12-week schedule so that SVB could be operational as quickly as possible.
The scope of work consisted of installing new mechanical systems and high-end finishes. Our team carried out the design team’s vision, creating an energy and dynamism within the office that reflects what happens outside the office on the streets of Manhattan. We upgraded the reception area by building an “Events Center,” an area made specifically for client interactions. Powered communal seats, environmental graphics, and kinetic architectural elements throughout the rest of the office support a “work from anywhere” approach. SVB’s company motto, “Make Next Happen Now” painted on an original brick wall, encourages employees to think big.
One challenge for our team was the installation of the custom folding and swinging glass walls in the conference rooms. To combat the lengthy installation period, we took care in pre-qualifying the subcontractor to minimize long-lead times. We were in close coordination with the design team during the project, setting and managing the schedule milestones.
