101 S Chester Road Façade Replacement and MEP Upgrades
LF Driscoll completed a comprehensive façade renovation and several critical MEP upgrades at an administrative services building for Swarthmore College located at 101 S Chester Road. During preconstruction, our engineering team collaborated closely with the design team and trade partners in a full design-assist process on the façade. To minimize uncertainties before construction began, we also conducted exploratory work.
One of the project’s biggest challenges was managing weather conditions. To prevent prolonged exposure of the building’s interior, we installed temporary weather walls and added an extra layer of protection using plastic curtains, which were rolled down at the end of each day.
The project’s success was rooted in the meticulous planning during the design-assist phase, including laser scanning the building and identifying known problem areas. Our strong partnership with the design team continued throughout construction, ensuring that any challenges were efficiently addressed in the field.
