The scope of work included high-end executive and partner/practice floors. Offices aligned along the perimeter have full-length glass fronts and conference rooms come equipped with acoustic panels to reduce noise. MEPS work consisted of the removal and replacement of existing toilet partitions/accessories, plumbing fixtures, ADA bathrooms and a waterline for the pantry. A double-height reception area includes an internal staircase connecting the 49th and 50th floors. Construction on the stair included the installation of a hidden steel stringer and a vertical support system in the wall. A leather wrapped handrail with glass guardrails and marble stone steps complete the design.
The whole office features captivating art, ranging from local artists to international superstars. Our team faced the challenge of coordinating with the art committee in securing, storing and hanging the pieces. Many works are valuable and needed special measures for proper care prior to and during installation.
Elements of sustainability and wellness were also considered during design and construction. Our team installed desks that adjust to allow sitting or standing. A full-service cafeteria/dining room and supplemental coffee bar are stocked with healthy food options. A large gym, named The Summit, includes a spin room, a weight room and physical therapy. And as a piece of historical nostalgia, the firm maintains a small library that’s home to a desk belonging to George Case, one of the founding partners of the firm that still bears his name.
