Morgan Lewis
Morgan Lewis, a top-10 Am Law firm founded in Philadelphia 150 years ago, recently moved to 2222 Market Street, the first office tower in Philly since the 2017 Comcast Technology Center. The 19-floor, 305,000sf building represents a new era for the firm, combining the power of in-person collaboration with the flexibility that now defines workplace culture. Our team started the fit-out of the interior office while the base building was still under construction.
Designed to attract top talent for years to come, the office combines modern amenities with flexible workspace solutions. The scope included:
- A fitness center with locker rooms and bathrooms on the second floor
- A full-floor servery, including a terrace on the 13th floor
- Two executive conference floors on floors 17 and 18, which also included Caucus Rooms and a large multi-purpose room
- Two floors of offices on levels 6 and 16, including a collaborative lounge area
- A rooftop terrace and lounge on the 19th floor
Emphasizing a shift from traditional layouts, no individual offices occupy corner spaces. Instead, these areas are designated for conference rooms equipped with advanced A/V systems. This design approach aligns with the firm’s strategy to foster collaboration and inclusivity. All personal offices and associate workspaces are situated to maximize access to natural light.
The new location supports over 1,000 employees working on a hybrid office schedule, and the space reflects the firm’s commitment to providing flexible workspace, enhancing employee well-being, and integrating innovative technology to boost productivity. With features like a state-of-the-art fitness center, a yoga studio, and a full cafeteria, the office is designed to be as comfortable as it is functional, indicating how Morgan Lewis envisions the workplace of the future—intelligent, sustainable, and thoroughly adaptable to the evolving needs of its global workforce.
