Leonessa – Conrad New York Downtown
High above the streets of Lower Manhattan, a new rooftop destination has arrived – vibrant, stylish, and built for all seasons. Conrad New York Downtown has introduced Leonessa, a lively Italian-inspired cocktail lounge that replaces the former Loopy Doopy Rooftop Bar. With sweeping views of the Hudson River and the Statue of Liberty, this reimagined 16th-floor space is led by NYC hospitality standout, Ariel Arce. The transformation, managed by Structure Tone, brings fresh energy and year-round versatility to one of the city’s most scenic rooftops.
The renovation covered 1,100sf of exterior space with 500sf on the interior, completely transforming the former open-air bar into a weatherproof rooftop lounge with a fresh, stylish identity. The space was fully demolished and rebuilt, starting with the installation of a retractable roof system that opens and closes with the seasons. A brand-new custom bar was constructed featuring a marble countertop and fluted tile detailing, paired with upgraded food service equipment and custom back bar shelving. The ceiling includes recessed spotlights, pendant lights, two ceiling fans, and eight space heaters, ensuring comfort no matter the weather. The lounge features a mix of striped seating, planters and low-profile tables arranged in a layout that balance comfort and style.
Leonessa brings new life to the rooftop of Conrad New York Downtown, offering a refined yet inviting escape above the city. With its elevated décor and panoramic views, the lounge delivers a unique blend of charm and sophistication. The transformation has not only reimagined the space but redefined what a rooftop experience can be – welcoming, stylish, and unforgettable year-round.
