Grand Hyatt New York
Manhattan’s legendary Grand Hyatt New York completed $130M, multi-phased renovation in 2011. Located near Grand Central Station, Grand Hyatt New York boasts meticulously redesigned guestrooms and suites, a transformed lobby and mezzanine, ballrooms, and the innovative grab-and-go food outlet, Market.
Our team began the renovation with three ballrooms located on the fifth floor. Each ballroom is equipped with 20-foot high operable partitions that allow them to be broken down into function rooms equipped with telephone service, electrical and microphone outlets and A/V equipment. We transformed the 40,000sf main lobby by installing stone finishes, new doors and a new lighting system. Infrastructure improvements included HVAC units, new escalators and a security system. We also upgraded all public areas for ADA compliance, renovated the existing roofs and executive offices, and added a 7,500sf fitness center on the penthouse level. Lastly, we updated over 1,300 guestrooms with new restrooms, paint, wall coverings, millwork and light fixtures. To meet the aggressive schedule, our project team turned over eight floors at a time.
