Few brands are as instantly recognisable for aesthetic pinspiration as Pinterest. And its new London workplace is the perfect physical representation of the app millions of users around the world know and love.
Featuring over 170 finishes across the 35,000 sq ft space, the character of the capital has been brought to life through a series of distinct neighbourhoods including Soho, Marylebone, Brick Lane, Southbank, Fitzrovia and Mayfair. Each area takes its cue from its surroundings, creating a carefully curated workplace.
The fit out delivers a range of amenities, including:
- Breakout workstations and coworking areas with sofas
- Themed meeting rooms
- Independent focus spaces
- A drawing room
- Dining facilities
- Barista counter with coffee shop style seating area
Several meeting rooms draw on familiar high street experiences, with spaces inspired by a bookshop, a pub and a chicken shop, while immersive workpoints and flexible collaboration areas offer employees lots of opportunities to feel creative and connected.
Delivering the project required our delivery team to channel their own creative approach. With no loading bay, all materials were delivered from street level, while a small, shared passenger lift required careful planning and navigation between building users and the project team. Larger materials were manually transported to Level 3, adding further complexity to the delivery programme.
Delivering the project next to one of the busiest streets in Oxford Circus also meant there were restrictions on noisy works during normal working hours, reducing available installation windows. Alongside this, limitations on fixing to the perimeter walls meant finding alternative solutions to achieve the required acoustic performance, including overboarding to meet the design intent without impacting functionality.
Despite these constraints, the team maintained momentum throughout the programme, carefully coordinating trades and sequencing works to keep progress on track. Through considered planning and close collaboration, every challenge was met without comprising quality.
The completed workplace captures Pinterest’s identity, bringing together creativity and craftsmanship in a space where bric-a-brac is everything and every detail has been meticulously pinned into place to inspire discovery and connection.
The modern workplace doesn’t get more pinteresting than this.
