Revlon
Cosmetic giant Revlon relocated their executive offices from Midtown to the top two floors of One New York Plaza. Sitting atop the southernmost tip of Manhattan, the office features spectacular panoramic harbor views of Governor’s Island, the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn, and New Jersey. The space was originally designed as a night club/lounge for the building and features dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows with distinctive architectural detailing.
The 49th floor includes five conference rooms, new restrooms, the server/IT room, a marketing area, open workstations, product display areas, and a reception lobby with glass display cases. The 50th floor includes eight conference rooms with millwork and Modernfold partitions, 15 offices, file rooms, storage, and pantries. An internal staircase connects the two floors and features a floor-to-ceiling wall composed of refurbished wood. Revlon also incorporated an inspiration room, product development and trial areas, an ambassador lounge, phone rooms, a photo lab, light room, and wellness room into these two floors. The design of the overall interior reflects tranquil, earth tones with punches of red, their signature color.
The goal was to build Revlon a productive, collaborative environment that enables employees to better support the company’s customer base and enhance sales. Construction was fast-tracked, with a schedule of 13 weeks of preconstruction and 22 weeks of construction. Challenges included managing the building’s uneven floor (the result of a previous tenant’s column removal). Our team was able to deliver the project to Revlon on time and within the expected budget.
