The Culinary Institute of America - Anton Plaza
Anton Plaza is a 32,500sf landscaped terrace for outdoor banquets and other special events. The Plaza overlooks the Hudson River and sits atop the new parking garage structure. When not in use for special events, the Plaza and its centerpiece fountain serves as a gathering area for students, faculty, staff and visitors.
The 60,000sf parking structure is an underground facility. It consists of two decks and provides 146 parking spaces for visitors. In order to construct the new plaza and hidden parking structure, site preparation required extensive blasting and removal of 12,000 cubic yards of rock. This was all conducted on a fast-track schedule and completed in three-and-a-half weeks.
