Structure Tone Ireland delivered the first phase Data Centre Building for CyrusOne at their flagship Dublin Campus. The project involved the Shell & Core construction Including technical fit-out through to Racks, modelling, management, and commissioning of 18MW in the first building for CyrusOne.
The project included a utility substation and MV distribution for the full campus and site-wide infrastructure works for the 22.5 Acre campus, consisting of coordination and management of all utility services and OFCI equipment. The building is a two-story Data Centre with an additional 30,000 sq. feet of office space over three levels.
Our engineering team managed the shell and core construction along with a technical fit-out, which commenced as a standard CyrusOne deployment. Subsequent design and tenant uptake resulted in substantial alterations to the electrical and fit-out requirements for the tenant, which we executed via our contract with CyrusOne. This whole process was managed through two national COVID Lockdowns.
The facility is constructed with a redundant electrical 2N Catcher distribution system and free cooling chilled water mechanical systems. The fire protection functions via a double knock wet and dry system depending on whether the area is critical or non-critical. The PV cells provide renewable energy for the office area. Structure Tone managed the fit out from the critical distribution to the power distribution cabinets and the Hot Aisle Contained cabinet rows.
The project successfully achieved completion in July 2021. Building A, which contains the associated site work, has matured well with the bespoke wetlands, landscaping, and bio-diversity installations befitting a world-class technical facility.
