Zola
Wedding startup Zola inked an 11-year lease on a 40,500sf office at 7 World Trade Center. The company, which offers tools like online gift registry, and customizable invites and wedding websites to help to simplify the wedding-planning process, took over the 39th floor at 7 WTC, a step up from their previous 12,500sf offices at 150 BroadwayGo to https://lavamap.com/property/150-Broadway-New-York-NY-10038/1000640012-0. Zola’s space is immediately above Silverstein Properties’ executive offices.
As the construction manager on this project, we created a clean, vibrant space to accommodate Zola’s expanding team, and create opportunities to display their company brand and products. Our scope of work entailed building out open workstations, conference rooms, huddle rooms, a large pantry, multi-purpose room and a product showcase room referred to as the “Townhouse.” The floor was built-out as two spaces at the same time – one at 30,000sf for their initial size and one at 10,000sf with tenant demising walls for room to grow. The open-plan office features exposed ceilings with pendant light fixtures, benching system furniture, carpet tiles, and other details to highlight the incredible floor to ceiling windows with 360-degree views. Conference rooms include carpet tile, acoustical ceiling tiles, and bright walls either through paint or wallpaper, and each is named after a wedding movie, e.g., 27 Dresses, Father of the Bride and Wedding Crashers.
As mentioned above, the entryway to Zola’s office doubles as the Zola TownhouseGo to https://www.zola.com/townhouse/nyc. It feels like a living room with exposed brick and rose gold and copper accessories and appliances. This multi-purpose room is part event space/meeting space/showroom with cozy furniture and big windows. Our team brought their retail/showroom construction expertise to this office fit-out. Zola carries more than 100,000 products from upwards of 600 brands, including KitchenAid, Cuisinart and Vitamix, selling those items as gifts to wedding.
“The team moved into the space and they are completely speechless about the new office. They feel like we are staying at a hotel. Thank you guys again for all the hard work!”
