WebMD
When WebMD decided to relocate their New York headquarters to 395 Hudson Street, they selected Structure Tone as their premier construction management company. WebMD’s new space encompasses two floors, increasing the company’s footprint from its previous location by almost 50%.
The new office design strives for a more innovative, collaborative and healthy work environment for this online health resource company, who desired a “modern residential” feel for their space. Over the course of the four-month preconstruction phase, our firm provided extensive design-assist services, budgeting and value engineering.
Approximately 75% of the space is made up of over 300 open workstations on each floor, exposed ceilings and carpet. Offices are located along the interior of the floor plate along with huddle rooms and conference areas.
The finished space also features several amenity and specialty spaces including an elaborate reception area, a large pantry donned as the “market”, a coffee bar, a fitness center complete with locker rooms, free weights, exercise machines and several collaborative spaces. Our team also updated the core bathrooms by adding showers. Linking the two floors is a two-story interconnecting wooden stair set against an imported Italian limestone back wall. The space created around the stair is WebMD’s public assembly area.
