University of South Florida Morsani Center for Advanced Healthcare
The Morsani Center for Advanced Healthcare combines world-class health care with a state-of-the-art building designed to facilitate learning in health teams. In 2006, Ajax started work on the Utility Infrastructure for the new six-story, 194,000sf Patient Care Medical Facility.
The facility houses the following major components: Diagnostic imaging (fully digital) MRI, CT, women’s diagnostics with mammography, ultrasound and bone densitometry, fluoroscopy, basic X-ray, nuclear medicine; Ambulatory surgery/procedure center, including eight operating rooms and five endoscopy suites; Outpatient facilities, including 60 clinic exam rooms; Patient support areas and patient administrative services; Clinical and translational research; Patient Outreach and Education Center; Sweetbay Pharmacy conveniently located on the first floor. Clinical space includes: Brain Health, including Neurosurgery, Neurology and Psychiatry, Digestive Disorders, ENT, Sports Medicine and Women’s Health.
“The complexity and the overlapping construction schedule presented many challenges; including last minute user changes, logistical and coordination issues…Throughout the prolonged design and construction process, the Ajax Building team responded with a positive “can-do” philosophy and consistently superior effort. Ajax’s commitment to customer satisfaction has been amply demonstrated in their willingness to promptly address issues (warranty or otherwise) beyond the required one-year warranty period. Ajax has consistently demonstrated that they are extremely committed to USF as a client, in all that they do.” —John-Thomas McCaffrey, Architect/Project Manager & Assistant Director, Quality Assurance
